The 1991-92 Illini basketball team topped 13th-ranked Michigan State late in the season and defeated Purdue twice in a pair of overtime victories. Captains Deon Thomas and Tom Michael were the teams top two leading scorers. Other primary contributors were Rennie Clemons, T.J. Wheeler, Scott Pierce, Robert Bennett, Brooks Taylor and Marc Davidson.
