The 1995-96 Illinois basketball team was Lou Henson's final one as the Illini head coach. It had an 18-13 overall record and qualified for the National Invitation Tournament. Co-captains Kiwane Garris, Richard Keene and Jerry Hester were joined in the starting lineup by Jarrod Gee, Chris Gandy and occasionally Bryant Notree.
