Though it posted a losing record, Coach Lou Henson's 1977-78 Illini team upset 11th-ranked Indiana in Bloomington. Its leading scorers were Audie Matthews, Mark Smith, Rich Adams, Eddie Johnson, Neil Bresnahan, Rob Judson, Reno Gray and Levi Cobb.
